Professional Experience
This page explains my professional experience to date.
I have gained a remarkable amount of solid and diverse experience since I entered the industry in mid 2008.
Ganz
Level Designer
[01/2010] - Present
As a Level Designer at Ganz, my role mostly involves gameplay and cinematic scripting on an unannounced 3D online game.
Fuel Games
Senior Game Designer, Contract
[04/2009] - [08/2009]
At Fuel Games I spent five months on various contracts, all of which allowed me to contribute heavily to multiple games' designs:
- Worked on Game, Level and Systems Design on multiple projects
- Worked with various genres, including (3D) Platformers, Action Sports, and Fighters, and (2D) Action and Puzzlers
- Had full creative direction on a multi-million dollar console game pitch for a top publisher
- Worked closely with both the Tech and Art leads to pre-empt conflicts and iterate the designs accordingly
- Shipped Vans Sk8: Pool Service for the Zune, multiple projects in 2010 / 2011 pipeline
Skyworks Interactive
Designer / World Builder
[07/2008] - [03/2009]
I joined Skyworks Interactive near the end of the pre-production cycle for an unannounced, open-world RPG.
- My role mainly involved Level Design, with some light Game and Systems design
- I designed and built multiple large zones
- The world map offered only abstract themes for each zone, giving me a large amount of creative freedom for their direction
- For each zone, I was responsible for: world layout, terrain creation, content placement, mission design and scripting
- I obtained feedback from the design team to continually iterate my own work
- In addition, I gave daily contributions to the ongoing review of mission plans and zones of other designers
Recommendation:
“Brent was a fantastic, hardworking designer. He worked for me for a year or so on a project and it was an absolute pleasure to work with him. He was hard working, talented and full of skill. He has some really fantastic experence as well as a great sense of design and it really shows.”
